Geelong Gliding Club > Adventure 3000ft Launch Glider Flight

Geelong Gliding Club - Adventure 3000ft Launch Glider Flight
  • For 1 Person
  • 3 year validity
  • Instant electronic delivery
  • Organise timeslot after purchase

You will fly in a two-seat glider with a qualified instructor, launched by aerotow to a height of 3000 feet [app. 900m] above ground. The glider has dual controls so you will be able to experience flying the glider for yourself for part of the flight. Of course, if you don’t want to handle the controls on your first flight, that is OK. The flight will usually last 20 to 30 minutes, depending upon weather conditions. If you wish and conditions allow, some aerobatics (for example a loop or chandelle) may be carried out.  Aerobatics will, however, considerably shorten the flight.

If conditions allow and you wish to, the pilot can extend the flight, but an additional charge may apply.

Flights are provided on the basis of “first come, first served”.  No prior bookings are necessary but you are advised to check in advance that flights will be available on the day you choose (phone Alf on 0409 212 527).  The club operates on most weekends and public holidays.

GGC has been Australia’s Premier gliding club since 1929. Based at Bacchus Marsh Airfield, less than one hour west of Melbourne. We offer a range of Air Experience Flights (AEFs) to people wishing to discover the thrill of gliding.  Flights are provided in two-seat gliders with fully qualified instructors. During your flight, you should be able to see Melbourne’s city skyline to the east, the picturesque You Yangs to the south and the rich farmland below. If you keep a sharp lookout, you might even see an eagle flying along beside your glider.

Why not make the most of your trip? Bring friends, bring a picnic, and after your flight, you can visit the attractions of Bacchus Marsh or just soak up the friendly atmosphere with our enthusiastic club members at the airfield.
